Haryana and Uttar Pradesh chief minister fail to protect minorities

Engineer Affan Nomani

Recent comment of Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal khattar on the burning issue of Mewat Gang-rape and beef row are condemnable.
It is very shameful that the case of double murder and Gang-rape of two sister happened under the nose of chief minister Khattar but these issues are the small issue  for them .
There is no doubt that Mr. Khattar is trying to " criminally downplay " the brutal gang-rape of two mewati women allegedly by cow vigilantes.
It is very unfortunate that National Human Rights Commission ( NHRC ) and National Minorities Commission ( NMC ) are silent on the issue of Mewat where a 20 - year old women  and her 14 - year old cousin were gang-raped by several men while their uncle and aunt were tied up and beaten to death in their home on 24 August.
National commission for women ( NCM ) always talk about freedom and rights of women but not a single member of NCM came forward for the justice of victims of mewati women.
National commission for women ( NCM ) has raised the voice for the women to worship in Dargah and temple but the case of brutal gang-rape of two mewati women was not important for them.
Not only Haryana chief minister Mr. Khattar fails to protect minorities in Haryana while  Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mr.  Akhilesh Kumar  also fails to protect minorities in state and recent communal riots in Bijnore where four Muslims were killed and ten others were left severely injured on 16 September.
The big question is that why  state government, central government, National Commission for women ( NCM ) and National Human Rights Commission ( NHRC ) are silent on the issue of Mewat and Bijnor ?
Are the victims being ignored for belonging to a particular religious community ?
The prime minister and president of India should come out with his views on the incident of Mewat and Bijnore and strong action must be taken against the accused of Mewat gang-rape incident and Bijnore Communal riots.
